    Restarting plaquenil

It's used to treat and prevent malaria infection, and to reduce symptoms and progression of autoimmune diseases such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and others. One of the problems with Plaquenil is that because it's so slow to act, the improvements are also slow and subtle. So most people don't realize that they've improved until they STOP taking it. I've been on it twice, along with Atabrine another antimalarial. In my case, it never worked so I didn't notice a change. Plaquenil hydroxychloroquine belongs to a group of medicines called quinolines. Plaquenil is used to treat or prevent malaria, a disease caused by parasites that enter the body through the bite of a mosquito. Malaria is common in areas such as Africa, South America, and Southern Asia. I recently decided to stop taking Plaquenil because I was having constant chest pains even more so than I usually have due to Lupus. Since I have not taken it my chest feels so much better which is odd because chest pain is not listed as a side effect. Also I noticed that the Plaquenil I think was making me feel different but not in a good way.

For example, it may be combined with an antibiotic to treat chronic Q-fever, which humans usually catch from farm animals or raw milk. Plaquenil is used to treat other types of infections too.

Chloroquine - Wikipedia Chloroquine enters the red blood cell by simple diffusion, inhibiting the parasite cell and digestive vacuole. Chloroquine then becomes protonated to CQ2+, as the digestive vacuole is known to be acidic pH 4.7; chloroquine then cannot leave by diffusion.
